Flight Watch

Flight Watch is a weather monitoring service previously available on a universal discrete frequency (122.0 MHz in the US). Pilots could contact Flight Watch en route to receive current weather, PIREPs, and other meteorological information without going off-frequency to contact a ground station.

Current Status in Canada

In Canada, en route weather information is obtained from FIC via the published FIC frequencies, not a universal Flight Watch frequency. Pilots can contact FIC by radio on the frequencies listed in the CFS for their region, or by phone at 1-866-WXBRIEF. The US discontinued the 122.0 MHz Flight Watch service in 2015; pilots in both countries now use FIC/FSS frequencies for en route weather.
