Air Time
Air time is the period from the moment an aircraft first moves under its own power for the purpose of taking off until it comes to rest after landing. For aeroplanes, this corresponds to wheels-rolling to wheels-stopped.
Air Time vs. Flight Time
Flight time begins when the aircraft first moves under its own power for the purpose of flight (block out) and ends when it comes to rest at the end of the flight (block in). Air time covers only the period the aircraft is actually airborne — wheels-off to wheels-on for aeroplanes. Both are required log entries under CARs.
