Low Level Airway
A low-level airway is a published IFR airway in low-level airspace — from a specified lower limit (typically 2,200 ft AGL or the base of controlled airspace) up to but not including FL180. Low-level airways in Canada are depicted on IFR low-altitude en route charts and are 8 NM wide (4 NM either side of centreline).
Airway Identification
Canadian low-level airways are identified by a letter-number combination (e.g., V300, J501). The letter indicates the airway type (V for VOR airway in US/southern Canada; other designations apply). Each airway segment has a published MEA, MOCA, and where applicable, a MAA (Maximum Authorized Altitude).
