Flight Information Service En Route (FISE)
Flight Information Service En Route (FISE) is a service provided by the Flight Information Centre to pilots who have filed an IFR flight plan and are operating en route in areas with limited radar coverage. FISE provides position reporting, weather updates, NOTAM information, and alerting service for the flight.
Where FISE is Used
FISE is most commonly used in remote or northern Canadian airspace where radar coverage is limited or non-existent. Pilots operating IFR in these areas contact the FIC via HF radio or VHF relay to make mandatory position reports and receive updated weather information.
